When experiencing difficult emotions, we often want to escape them. We seek out ways to avoid the pain and find something that feels controllable and manageable. Food is often your worst enemy but it can also feel like your savior when everything feels like it is too much to handle. You’ve come to rely on food, whether you are eating too much or too little and you might think “I just want to eat like a normal person”.
